Jean-Michel is a senior environmental scientist with Dillon Consulting Ltd, based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Forestry and Environmental Management at the University of New Brunswick and his PhD in Biology at the University of Saskatchewan. He has a broad background in natural resource management, environmental assessment and conservation planning. His experience in government, consulting, conservation organizations and academia provide clients with a unique blend of perspectives for their project needs. Jean-Michel has led or assisted in the environmental assessment and post-construction monitoring for renewable energy projects across Canada, with a focus on the Prairies, and has seen the evolution of regulatory standards and guidelines for renewable projects over the past ten years. In his presentation, Jean-Michel will provide a unique perspective of the evolution of siting, with a focus on Saskatchewan, and discuss the implications for many of the legacy sites that developers are moving forward with in their project proposals.
